Last Saturday, a group of us from NGS went for a cycling trip to the eastern part of Singapore. After meeting at NUS, we made our epic cross-country bus journey to East Coast Park. We rented some bikes and got on our way towards the east. We cycled all along the beach in the park before getting to the Changi airport area. Here, you can really see the jets taking off next to you or flying above your head - quite a sight! Going even further, we reached our destination: Changi Village. We laid down our bikes, took a rest and had a well deserved lunch at a hawker centre nearby. We rode back the same way, occasionally envying the Tiger Airways passengers covering the runway distance significantly faster than us. The map shows the route we went along, almost 36 km both ways! I can really say, this is a very nice route, so for all of you who haven't been around here yet, I can definitely recommend it! And of course, we hope to see many of you on our next event!:) Hi NGS Scholars, NGSSA proudly brings you the 2012 April issue newsletter. The focus of this issue shall be a short round up of the symposium. Thank you for all your support! Also in this issue, we present to you two other major events in NGS for the past six months, which includes the NGS Awards cum White Coat Ceremony and the Induction Day. We have also included the newly introduced NGS Buddy System in this issue. Moreover, screening of The PHD Movie, which was co-coordinated by NGGSA, was briefly covered in this issue. At the end of this issue, we hope to prepare you for some of the exciting events lined up ahead, including the cycling trip coming this Saturday! Enjoy your read. Regards, Webmaster

I am going to post something totally unrelated to your PhD life. If you ever feel annoyed by your PhD work or frustrated by the result, try watching the Nyan Cat video, to get even more stressed. And at the end of your day, also try Jazz version. PS. Please help me to share this to the NGSSA Facebook page :) Webmaster nyaning out. |
