Mr Lin Wei Liang
Co-Founder (Design R&D) at T.Ware Red Dot Design Award, 2012 Dyson Award (National Top 10) CES Innovations Honoree International Design Competition Osaka 2005 Excellent work Singapore Design Award (Merit) Profile Wei Liang is the Co-founder of T.Ware, a wearable technology start-up based in Singapore with global user base. Previously, he worked as a Research Associate at the Keio-NUS Cute Center and an adjunct lecturer in Singapore Polytechnic. With 9 years of multi-disciplinary experience in experience design, industrial design, interactive products and human computer interfaces, he leads the design research and development team of T.Ware, innovating interactive products with user empathy. He is the receiver of the 2010 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards, 2012 Dyson Award (National Top 10) and Red Dot Design Award. His start-up won the top prize in the 2014 Asian Entrepreneurship Award and has been awarded Proof of Concept (POC) grant under SPRING Singapore’s Technology Enterprise Commercialisation Scheme (TECS), for its potential to make a notable impact on the healthcare sector. Abstract Industrial talk title: "Tware: From research to autism to mass market" A world leader in intelligent pneumatics wearable for relieving of discomfort, Tware has been brought out from its R&D incubation days in NUS to a business with a social impact edge. The company’s first product, Tjacket, is used by people with autism, ADHD, and post-traumatic stress disorder for comfort and relief from hyper-arousal and anxiety. Using the same core technology, the company is about to launch its second product Airawear - the world's first intelligent massage jacket, which is catered more for the mass market. |
