Dr Melissa Fullwood
Assistant Professor at the Nanyang Technological University Principal Investigator at the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore, and a joint Principal Investigator at the Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR Profile Dr. Melissa Fullwood completed her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences in 2005 at Stanford University. She continued on with a PhD with the National University of Singapore Graduate School for Integrative Sciences and Engineering (NGS), finishing in 2009. During this time, she developed the ChIA-PET method for investigating chromatin interactions and is currently a co-inventor on two patents involving this work. She has also received several awards including the inaugural L’Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science National Fellowships, the GE and Science prize, the Phillip Yeo prize (biomedical) and the A*STAR/SNAS Young Scientist Award. From 2013-5, Dr. Fullwood was also the President of the Singapore Institute of Biology. She is a a United Nations Women (Singapore) ambassador for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. She is a National Research Foundation Fellow and a Nanyang Assistant Professor at the School of Biological Sciences at the Nanyang Technological University and a Principal Investigator at the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore, and a joint Principal Investigator at the Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR. |
