21st February 2014. NUS University Hall Auditorium. Register here.
The 6th NGS Symposium is themed “Life-Opportunities-Research (L.O.R.)”, as we retain our enduring tradition to provide a cherished opportunity for our peers to share their research and undertakings with fellow students through TED-like talks and poster presentations. Similar to our previous symposiums, esteemed guests from both academia and industry are invited and we learn, through valued interactions, of and about career opportunities and other rewarding prospects in a life beyond graduation.
This year, we are honoured to have Professor Paul Matsudaira, the current head of the Biological Sciences department in NUS and formerly the founding faculty of the Bioengineering department in MIT as our keynote speaker for this symposium. Besides, our distinguish panelists include A/Prof Ooi Eng Eong, associate professor and deputy director of Program in Emerging Infectious Diseases in Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Dr. Koh Soo Jin Adrian, assistant professor at NUS, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Pauline Tay, senior technology consultant at the Intellectual Property Intermediary, and Dr. Carol Tan, research fellow at the School of Biological Sciences in NTU.
On top of that, we are proud to have EURAXESS, Panasonic, and SAP to share the views of research from the industry prospective, as well as the qualities of a Ph.D graduate that the industry is looking for.
Date: 21 February 2014
Time: 9 a.m to 5 p.m (Registration starts at 8:45 a.m)
